About Uriti

Uriti is a platform for understanding African history through maps, time, and sources — with living tools and careful reading.

Our mission

African history is rich, complex, and too often fragmented. Uriti brings together editorial resources, an interactive map, and an assistant that cites — to illuminate without inventing.

Each resource carries dates, territories, confidence levels, and consultable sources. The goal is not encyclopedic exhaustiveness, but reliable, embodied, ongoing exploration.

What guides us

  • Sourced

Claims are anchored in a reviewed corpus. The assistant answers from evidence, not invention.

  • Living

Map, constellation, comparator, and audio: multiple ways into the story.

  • Careful

Dates, borders, and gaps in the corpus are marked. Uncertainty is part of reading.
