Purpose
These terms govern access to and use of uriti.org and the services offered by Uriti.
Uriti is a platform for exploring African history. It lets you browse resources, events, territories, and trajectories from a selected documentary corpus.
By using Uriti, you accept these terms.
Access to the service
We aim to make Uriti available under the best possible conditions. Access may nonetheless be limited, suspended, or interrupted, including for maintenance, security, or service evolution.
Expected use
You agree to use Uriti respectfully, lawfully, and in line with its purpose.
In particular, you must not attempt unauthorized access to systems, data, or features; disrupt the site or bypass security measures; use Uriti for unlawful, fraudulent purposes or to harm others’ rights; extract, reproduce, redistribute, or mass-exploit content without authorization; or use content in ways that distort sources, narratives, or their context.
Sources and historical assistant
Uriti relies on a corpus of validated resources indexed in the platform. The historical assistant answers from that corpus. When information is not established there, it must not invent answers or pull them from the open web.
References tied to content help identify the resources used and go deeper. Uriti does not claim to cover all of African history or settle existing historical debates.
The assistant helps explore, understand, and connect available information. Its answers do not replace consulting sources, research work, or specialist advice.
Intellectual property and reuse
Original content created by Uriti is protected. Third-party resources cited, referenced, or reproduced remain subject to their rights holders’ rights.
Unless otherwise indicated or previously authorized, you may not reuse Uriti content for commercial purposes, or reproduce it in a substantial or systematic way.
Displayed links, references, and citations support traceability and further reading; they grant no rights over the works they point to.
External links
Uriti may link to external sites, archives, catalogs, or resources to help exploration. Uriti does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
Changes to the terms
Uriti may update these terms to reflect platform or regulatory changes. The online version at the time you use the service is the one that applies.
