Protecting your data

Uriti is a platform for exploring African history. We pay particular attention to protecting personal data and explaining clearly how it is used.

This policy describes the data that may be processed when you use uriti.org, and your rights.

Data we may process

Depending on the features you use, Uriti may process information you send when you contact us (including your email address and message content); questions sent to the historical assistant; and technical data needed to run and secure the site, such as IP address, browser type, device, and technical logs.

Uriti does not sell your personal data.

Why we use this data

We use this data only to operate and secure the platform, respond to your requests, improve service quality and reliability, prevent fraudulent or abusive use, and meet legal obligations when they apply.

Access and retention

Data is accessible only to people authorized to operate and improve Uriti, and to technical providers required to run the site. We limit access to what is necessary for each purpose.

Data is kept only as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, then deleted or anonymized when possible.

Your rights

You may request access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, or object to certain uses.

To exercise your rights or ask about your personal data, email contact@uriti.org. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (or your local supervisory authority).

Cookies

Uriti may use cookies or similar technologies required for the site to function and stay secure. If non-essential cookies are added (for example for analytics), we will collect consent when the law requires it.

Changes to this policy

This policy may change to reflect updates to Uriti or applicable law. The date at the top of the page shows the latest update.
